Georgia TechFOCUSFOCUS 2008—The 17th Anniversarystudents confer at FOCUS

BLACK GRADUATE STUDENT ASSOCIATION

The seventeenth annual FOCUS recruiting program will be held at Georgia Tech January 17-20, 2008.

The main goal of FOCUS is to give prospective minority graduate students—and any student who will find the program beneficial—an opportunity to visit Georgia Tech and Atlanta, receive an overview of the graduate degree programs, and participate in the Martin Luther King Jr. celebration. We hope this visit will encourage each student to pursue an advanced degree at the Georgia Institute of Technology or any other graduate school of their choice.

BGSA Involvement in FOCUS

In 1994, BGSA incorporated FOCUS into the fabric of the organization, creating a new position with the specific charge of managing BGSA's role in FOCUS. The University Relations Chair position has since expanded to encompass BGSA's involvement with multiple campus activities and organizations. At the same time, the FOCUS program released the management of logistics and student interactions to BGSA to direct and organize. The active participation of BGSA members in both the planning and implementation of FOCUS subprograms is crucial to the success of FOCUS.

Please contact the University Relations Chair if you are a BGSA member interested in volunteering for FOCUS.
