Georgia TechFOCUSFOCUS 2008—The 17th Anniversarystudents listen to speaker

VISITORS

The seventeenth annual FOCUS recruiting program will be held at Georgia Tech January 17-20, 2008.

The main goal of FOCUS is to give prospective minority graduate students—and any student who will find the program beneficial—an opportunity to visit Georgia Tech and Atlanta, receive an overview of the graduate degree programs, and participate in the Martin Luther King Jr. celebration. We hope this visit will encourage each student to pursue an advanced degree at the Georgia Institute of Technology or any other graduate school of their choice.

As Georgia Tech pursues its vision to educate the future leaders of a technologically driven world, one of the goals is to build a diverse community of students, faculty, and staff. To accomplish this, one strategy is to remain among the top producers of underrepresented minority Ph.D.s in the country. FOCUS will play an integral part in this strategic plan.

Finally, through FOCUS and other programs, Georgia Tech will continue to create a campus environment of inclusion, respect, and community, where diversity is viewed as a valuable asset in every aspect of campus life.
