Black Graduate Student Association (BGSA)
BGSA exists to provide an infrastructure of unity, support and academic guidance for the betterment of the
black graduate student body and the black community.
Graduate Cooperative Program
The Graduate Cooperative Program is a certificate program that provides both master's and doctoral students
the opportunity to include specialized paid work experiences in their graduate studies.
Office of Minority Education Development (OMED)
OMED is the educational services unit at the Georgia Institute of Technology charged with the retention and
performance of the Institute's underrepresented students (African American, Hispanic and Native American).
OMED develops and operates programs in the areas of orientation, transition, academic support, coaching and
reaffirmation. Though these programs target underrepresented students, they are open to all students.
Women's Resource Center (WRC)
WRC works to enhance the academic performance and personal development of the women at Georgia Tech by
striving to create a more inclusive and supportive campus environment for women, and by promoting
understanding among Georgia Tech's diverse community of women and men.
FACULTY SUPPORT LINKS
Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CETL)
CETL is committed to faculty development, assessment, and support. The Center works to enhance the learning
and teaching environment at Georgia Tech by encouraging a fully engaged, sharing community with communication
networks, resources, and innovative programs.
Office of Faculty Support Services (FSS)
FSS is responsible for processing all academic faculty personnel transactions, including appointments,
reappointments, promotions, tenure, post tenure reviews, leaves of absence, salary adjustments, etc.
RELATED TECH PROGRAMS
Facilitating Academic Careers in Engineering and
Science (FACES)
FACES is a collaborative effort between the College of Engineering, College of Science at the Georgia
Institute of Technology, Morehouse College, and Spelman College, designed to significantly increase the number
of African American students receiving doctoral degrees in engineering and science fields and ultimately
increase the number of these individuals entering the professoriate.
Empowering Minority Engineers/Scientists to Reach for Graduate
Education (EMERGE)
EMERGE partner institutions are dedicated to substantially increasing the number of underrepresented minorities
earning degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, as well as preparing them to be future
leaders in academia, industry and government.
Summer Undergraduate Research in Engineering/Science
Program (SURE)
SURE is a ten-week summer research program at Georgia Tech, designed to attract qualified minority students into
graduate school in the fields of engineering and science. Students are paired with a faculty and graduate student
mentor to undertake research projects in the College of Engineering, College of Science, and the Packaging Research
Center.
